What is FOOIA?
FOOIA stands for Friends Of Olney Infant Academy and is the name of the Parent Teacher Association for Olney Infant Academy (prior to 1st June 2011 we were known as FOOIS, Friends of Olney Infant School). FOOIA has a long history of active support, raising thousands of pounds each year to provide a wide variety of complementary equipment and activities, benefiting every child in the school. FOOIA is a registered charity and qualifies for Gift Aid on donations.

Who are FOOIA?
We are a committee of mums, dads, friends, school staff and members of the governing body who offer our time and skills to support the school. Anyone is welcome to join us, formally as a committee member or informally to support the running of events. FOOIA is also a great way to get to know other people and have some fun.

What do FOOIA do?
We arrange activities and events for children, parents and friends throughout the year with the aim of raising additional funds to buy items that the school would not normally be able to afford due to budget constraints. Over the past few years in addition to providing the money to support Book Week and African Week, we have purchased musical instruments, an audio system for the school, the “Trim Trail”, laptop computers, drying racks, cookery equipment, reading book sets, wooden play-tower for the Foundation Area plus lots of ancillary items such as bulbs for the interactive whiteboards (cost £250 each bulb). We are also delighted to have been able to donate £7000.00 towards the building of a new canopy above the outdoor area outside Brown Bears.  This now means that the children in Foundation have access to an outdoor classroom that can be used in all weather.  We are now working towards raising £3000.00 to help build a canopy over the outside swimming pool which all our children will benefit from.  FOOIA aims to support the social and educational development of children at the school.

• Summer plant sales

As you can see we are looking to arrange a wide number of activities to benefit our children at Olney Infant Academy.  All profits go directly to the school.
