The children in Foundation have all settled into school really well and have already built up positive relationships with staff in our setting. They have an excellent understanding of routines within our school and understand the boundaries through their knowledge of our Golden Rules. Our ‘Time to Talk’ home visits have been extremely valuable as they have developed our existing knowledge of each child as an individual and we are now able to respond to their needs, feelings and interests. We also believe that this time has enabled us to build strong links with our new families. The Foundation team now have an excellent understanding of each child’s development and can plan their next steps. In school the children have access to a range of stimulating resources and have rich learning opportunities. Children are encouraged to play actively and explore in order to tackle challenges by thinking things through for themselves.
